Model & Parental Guidance

Wannabes:
Lots of girls and boys want to get into modelling. Many are being exploited by unscrupulous people posing as bogus model agents. On the false promise of a successful modelling career, girls as young as 15 are spending up to £500 on portfolios of pictures that are useless. Superior offers experienced, professional and caring advice on the correct procedures for getting into the modelling industry, and we can also advise about the possible dangers:

First – be vigilant on the internet
Beware of people posing as agents in chat rooms, instant messenger programmes or on social networking sites. In the past, unscrupulous people have set up profiles on Facebook and other social networks posing as scouts from agencies. If anyone claims to be from Superior but does not give you an email address in the form of: prefix@superiormodelmanagement.co.uk then they are NOT from Superior.

Second – never agree to meet anyone unless it is at Superior's Glasgow office (Suite 169, floor 2, Central Chambers 93, Hope Street, Glasgow, G2 6LD). Always visit with an accompanying parent, guardian or trusted adult. If you can’t come to Glasgow, then send snapshots through our website, or by post (see the Wannabe section to be a Superior Model).

Third – contact us direct
We do NOT work with any third parties, (whether they are photographers or agents), who may claim to work on our behalf to create portfolios for your benefit, as an introduction to Superior.

Fourth – do not pay for any pictures
Do not believe anyone who tells you that you need a professional portfolio to be considered by an agency. Natural shots without make-up are the best guides for us to decide your potential with our agency. Many people have thrown away hundreds of pounds having useless pictures taken because of false promises. If you are suspicious of anyone who contacts you, get as many details as you can from them, and then contact our office on 0141 258 4667

Parents:
Superior Model Management requires your consent for a child, under 18, to become a model. We will want you to fully understand and approve his or her terms of engagement. We won't interrupt a child's schooling and, should a model, still in education, work for us, he or she will only work with your consent and in the holidays or at weekends.

Eating disorders:
An unhealthy model is not a working model! What and how you eat affects your personality, appearance, attitude and, most important, your performance. It is therefore extremely important to ensure that you maintain a good, healthy, balanced diet. Superior only represent fit and healthy models. Eating disorders are easy fodder for the press. That said, they are not to be taken lightly. At Superior, we have no evidence of any model suffering. Nonetheless, we are here to support our models in all capacities, should our services be required.
